When can residents move in?

Most move-ins are in August. Your lease start date is the earliest you can move-in. If you would like to request a different move-in date please contact the office at 702-941-8001. We cannot guarantee that we can honor the earlier request but we will do our best.

What are the requirements to be able to live at The yoU?

General guidelines require either a guarantor or proof that you make at least 2.5x the total monthly rent and have a minimum credit score of 550. We can also accept I-20’s as proof of income. Background screening will be conducted for all applicants living at the property. No felony charges or evictions on record will be allowed.

Are the apartments furnished?

All apartments come fully furnished with a queen-size bed & 55inch Samsung TV!

Are utilities included? What are the costs?

Utilities are billed monthly at a rate of $175 per month. This charge includes unlimited usage of water, sewer, trash, electricity, cable, and WiFi.

How are roommates picked and when do students get these results?

You are able to lease with your own roommates if you prefer. If you would like to be matched, you will fill out a Roommate Matching Survey at the end of your application that we will use to best determine roommate matching. Results will be sent out within 30 days of moving in, if not sooner.

Can friends room together? How?

Most definitely! Just reach out to the office with your roommate preference before moving in so we can coordinate accordingly. We will just need confirmation from all parties involved that each wants to room with one another.

Are there laundry facilities?

Aside from having an all-in-one washer & dryer inside your unit, we have a laundry room on the 6th floor that gives you the ability to wash larger loads than the ones in the unit.

Can residents have overnight guests?

Our guest policy indicates residents can have overnight guests for no more than 3 consecutive nights in any 30 day period. Guest parking is available in the University Gateway parking structure right behind The yoU. This is a first come first serve basis.

Can students bring a car and is parking available?

We have a couple different options for our residents in terms of parking here at The yoU. There is complimentary, uncovered parking that is included in your rent, located on the 7th floor of the university gateway garage. This is uncovered and is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you would like a covered, reserved parking space. We have options available for $40 a month. If you have your UNLV parking permit, you have the ability to park in any student marked space in the entire garage.

Are pets allowed in the apartments?

No, unfortunately, we are not a pet-friendly property.

How do I pay rent?

You can make payments with personal checks, money orders, cashiers checks, or by debit or credit card. Physical payments can be made in the office, electronic payments can be made from the comfort of your own apartment!

Can students cancel their contracts during the academic year?

We don’t have a lease termination option. The only option for getting out of the lease is to go through the relet process which would be transferring your lease & lease terms to another qualified applicant.

When will I know where I will be living?

We notify people of their specific apartment placement typically 30 days prior to move-in or as soon as we have that information available to release.

Do I need rental insurance for my personal belongings?

We do not require personal property coverage for insurance. Residents are required to provide their own rental insurance or be automatically enrolled in Redstone’s damage waiver program for $12 a month. This program does not cover personal belongings.

Can I see an apartment prior to moving in?

Absolutely, just contact the leasing office or schedule your tour here.

When is rent due?

Rent is due on the 1st. Late fees will not be assessed until the 5th, giving the resident until the 4th to pay without any late fees.

What is the deposit amount?

Deposit amounts are dependent upon the resident’s screening results.

Who should I contact if I have a maintenance problem?

Please contact the office at (702) 998-5034 to submit any maintenance-related problems or you can also submit requests for work orders online in the resident portal. This can be done any time of day, regardless of the office hours.
